CBD Frequently Asked Questions
What is CBD hemp oil?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. This compound, alongside hemp's other nutrient-dense compounds, have become popularized for their natural therapeutic qualities.
Though categorized under the same umbrella as the marijuana plant, CBD contains only trace amounts of THC (under .3%), the chemical component that results in a psychoactive 'high'.
What are the benefits of CBD and full spectrum hemp supplements?
CBD has become a go-to for natural health-seekers to help support myriad of factors related to well-being. There are over 100+ cannabinoid compounds within the hemp plant and CBD is just one of them. When all these cannabinoid compounds work together in a full spectrum or broad spectrum hemp supplement, they create an entourage effect that increases effectiveness. Research promotes the benefits of whole plant hemp and our products reflect its wide array of natural compounds with near perfect accuracy.
Among the diverse benefits that CBD has to offer, CBD devotees express enthusiasm over its ability to help support a state of relaxation, healthy joint mobility, and a normal inflammatory response. Neurogan proudly offers full spectrum and broad spectrum THC-free extracts, rich in CBD content and hemp’s full variety of beneficial plant compounds.
Is Neurogan CBD Marijuana?
No. Neurogan CBD is made from CBD-rich hemp, not marijuana. Think of CBD and marijuana as lemons and oranges. Just as lemons and oranges are both considered citrus fruits, CBD and marijuana are both part of the cannabis plant genus. While marijuana is typically known for having high THC content, the chemical component that results in a psychoactive high, hemp contains no more than .3% THC.
All Neurogan CBD products are hemp-based, containing high-levels of CBD and under .3% THC, ideal for those looking to experience greater physical and mental well-being with some help from mother nature.
Are hemp oil and hemp extracts the same thing?
There is a lot of confusion in the CBD landscape today, and sadly, manufacturers are cashing in on this confusion by selling hemp-based goods that are not true CBD products. When you hear the term “hemp oil” it could either be denoting hemp seed oil or referring to a hemp-based CBD (cannabidiol) extract.
When it comes to hemp seed oil, this is a dietary oil that can be used for nutritional purposes or skin beauty, however, it does not contain CBD. This version of “hemp oil” is made from hemp seeds, and not the flowers, leaves, and stalks that contain CBD, among other cannabinoids.
Hemp extract is created from the leaves and flowers of the hemp plant and is rich in cannabinoids, like CBD. We create all Neurogan products by extracting cannabinoids from raw hemp for either a full spectrum or broad spectrum (THC-free) extract, and diluting them with a MCT carrier oil to make our signature CBD tinctures and capsules.
How does CBD oil work?
CBD oil is taken orally to help support healthy inflammatory function, a normal recovery response, and a healthy sleep and wake cycle. It interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system — a network of chemicals and receptors — to keep you in a state of balance known as homeostasis. CBD oil stimulates the endocannabinoid system to produce more cannabinoids, which have a positive effect on the body’s pain and inflammation response.
If you feel unable to make the distinction between whether you’re buying hemp seed oil or hemp-based CBD extract, ask to see lab results for the product you’re purchasing.
Will Neurogan CBD show up on a drug test?
Neurogan full spectrum extracts contain trace amounts of less than .3% of the cannabinoid, THC. People may fail drug tests from consuming poppy seeds just as you may receive a false positive when consuming hemp products. The chances are low but increase if you consume large portions each day over time.
If you consume large amounts of CBD and are concerned about the trace amounts of THC in our full spectrum CBD products, we highly recommend that you switch to our line of broad spectrum THC-free products in order to minimize risk.
How does CBD work?
CBD works wonders thanks to its direct interaction with our body’s endocannabinoid system. Every mammal on the planet has an endocannabinoid system: a network of receptors throughout the body that ensure homeostasis, i.e. internal balance. When we take a CBD supplement, it supports this complex system’s efforts to keep us in good health by providing an extra line of support.
What will it feel like when I take CBD?
The most important thing to understand is that CBD affects everyone different; just as no two bodies are the same, no two people will react to CBD the same. CBD works intimately with the body’s endocannabinoid system and has a balancing effect on your internal chemistry. That effect will look different based off of what your body needs.
Some individuals report feeling energized or focused after taking CBD, while others report feeling ready for bed. However, one of the most commonly experienced feelings that CBD helps to support is a sense of relaxation.
In short, there is no way of predicting how CBD will feel for you, so go ahead and try it with our 30 day money back trial to find out.
Does CBD have any side effects?
When you buy CBD from a reputable, trustworthy brand, like Neurogan, you can trust that you’re getting a high-quality product. However, as with any dietary supplement, there is always the risk of an adverse reaction and/or interaction with medication. Consult with your physician before you begin taking CBD in order to ensure it’s the right fit for you.
Does CBD have an age requirement/limit?
CBD’s been shown to be a healthy, all-natural alternative for all ages. However, CBD is most commonly used by adults who are 18 and older. If you wish to use CBD for a child under the age of 18, consult a medical professional in order to have their needs assessed for the best route of treatment.
Which CBD Product Should I Use?
How do I pick a CBD product and how much should I take?
When it comes to picking your first CBD product, we recommend starting with a low-medium dose of one of our basic full spectrum CBD products: Neurogan CBD oil 1000 or Neurogan CBD oil Robust 2000. Our CBD oil, sprays, and capsules were our very first Neurogan CBD products; all straightforward, quick-acting, and easy to use.
Finding the right dose for you will take some time to perfect, however, we always recommend starting low and going slow. Follow the instructions on the product packaging for dosage during the first 4-6 weeks and determine if either a higher or lower dose product would be right for you. During this trial period, be sure to take CBD daily. Consistent dosage is the best way to experience the beneficial effects of CBD.
Should I choose a broad spectrum or a full spectrum CBD product?
Whether you choose a broad spectrum or a full spectrum product, you’ve made a great choice. Both extracts feature a wide variety of hemp’s cannabinoids, making them capable of the entourage effect: the synergistic quality of hemp’s cannabinoids working together for a stronger effect. It's important to always choose either a full spectrum or broad spectrum product from a reputable CBD brand in order to avoid a fake CBD oil.
What is full spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD contains .3% THC (under the legal limit), while broad spectrum CBD does not contain THC. Therefore, if you have to engage in regular workplace drug testing, a broad spectrum extract could be the right fit for you. However, if you want an extract that is nearly identical to hemp in its chemical makeup, a full spectrum product is the right choice for you. Learn more on the difference between broad spectrum and full spectrum CBD here.
Is the type of CBD extraction important?
Yes, the extraction process directly affects the quality of your CBD.
The two most popular CBD extraction methods are CO2 & alcohol extraction. CO2 extraction uses CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), compressed to a critical point (90°). If you recognize this chemical abbreviation, it's because we breathe CO2 out of our very own lungs. This extraction method is used for all Neurogan products and lab results confirm it’s a far more clean and effective extraction method than an alcohol extraction.
What makes Neurogan different?
We offer CBD products that are as close to nature as it gets. Our hemp is grown in our home country of Denmark and manufactured in our private GMP facility for top-notch quality and purity. Each step in our cultivation process is integral to creating a truly unrivaled hemp experience that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
Why does Neurogan sell CBD?
Our co-founder, Jan Brandrup, has had a lifelong fascination with hemp. He gained an appreciation for the plant at a young age, through observing the immense relief his grandmother Karen got from her daily cup of homemade hemp-based tea. He devised a plan to one day start his own hemp company, and nearly two decades later, Neurogan was born.
How & where is Neurogan hemp grown?
All of our CBD products feature hemp grown in Denmark. We chose to grow our hemp in the Scandinavian region as the quality of the air, water, and soil is unrivaled with an untouched purity unlike anywhere else in the world. We utilize a slow growth cycle that spans a 5-month period. Throughout this process, rather than using a grow-house with lamps as a light source, our crops are grown outdoors amongst the elements of rain, wind, and sunshine.
Does Neurogan give back to the community?
We started Neurogan because we wanted to provide quality, affordable, all-natural health products to benefit individuals all over the world. But instead of thinking too big and getting ahead of ourselves, we started by supporting our local San Diego small businesses.
Our company gives back by supporting our community; in 2019 alone, we gave away over 400 bottles of CBD for free to local entrepreneurs, businesses, and nonprofits.
Alongside our enthusiastic community support, we love to support causes related to animals. We’ve proudly sponsored national dog shows, horse retreat & training camps, and adoption-centered pet nonprofits.
What makes Neurogan unique?
As we’ve mentioned, the quality and purity of our CBD is second to none, but that isn’t the only thing that makes us special.
Our co-founder, Jan Brandrup, has a specialized focus in educating customers when it comes to the pitfalls of the health & supplement industry, and he uses his passion for uncovering the truth behind popular supplements and manufacturers to help customers feel more informed.
To deliver on our education-focused approach, we use third party lab testing in order to test popular health products across the market: spirulina, proprietary blends, CBD, and fish oil. We also take an in-depth look at the structure of goods sold on the Amazon marketplace, while advocating for certified, FDA-approved transparency when it comes to CBD and other health-related products
As our customer, you’ll receive exclusive access to all of our investigative findings through helpful articles and newsletters that’ll make you feel informed and in-charge of your own health.
